Attacking justice

Hello, friends.  However slowly, the wheels of justice may be turning for the former president. It is sad that his supporters now attack the FBI and other institutions which are bringing investigations to alleged illegalities. The NRA and its lobbyists bear responsibility for making firearms and military-level firepower too-easily available, and the latest news from the FBI division in Cincinnati is an example of domestic terrorism.

Who are the main people at the top of the gun industry that profit most from sales of weapons? Their donations via the NRA to legislators kill serious gun control legislation. The NRA is only a servant of these owners and investors. Our elected representatives should instead take the morality and conscience questions directly to these now-hidden leaders. Contact them openly. These “secret investors” in American terrorism need to come out of the shadows. Best, Gene.

 

Toward Wider Families

On Facebook today I see a photo of old friends with children
and grandkids, marching in DC for better gun legislation.

It makes me think of deep links across generations with so many
coming together, mostly strangers reaching out in oneness,

seeing beyond the “chinks of closed caverns” to “cleanse the doors of perception,” to weep together and plan for life without brutality.

From birth we count on felt love of families to lead us through the fear
and suffering of beginnings as we reach toward fuller friendships.

We have limited insight into brain disorders that drive some
to pick up semi-automatics for slaughter of fellow kin.
